Fox Burger is currently seeking an experienced individual to join our kitchen as a Line Cook with Prep Cook skills. Located on 124st, in the heart of the Westmount community, Fox Burger serves up smash-style burgers and features a rotating selection of Alberta craft beers. The Line Cook will work as a member of the kitchen team, assisting coworkers in the absence of the Head Chef and ensuring an expedient and enjoyable experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Contribute to the kitchen team with ensuring a respectful and safe working environment Must be able to follow delegated tasks to ensure a productive and efficient kitchen team Must become familiar with all aspects of the menu, including execution of menu items, preparation of menu items, and all ingredients and common allergens Must maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization for themselves and their workspace Ensuring proper rotation of product Ensuring that all opening, closing, prep and daily cleaning duty checklists are completed fully and properly

Skills & Abilities:

The Line Cook will be part of a fast paced kitchen team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills; a demonstrated proficiency in short order cooking; an ability to adapt to changes in recipes and relay them to coworkers; an ability to operate within set time guidelines; a willingness to adapt with a kitchen team through ever changing challenges during service.

Qualifications:

Preference will be given for cooks with minimum of 2 years of experience working in a fast paced kitchen Exceptional communication and time management skills required Proficiency in all areas of basic food preparation and execution Preference will be given to applicants who have had previous experience in a similar style of restaurant Red Seal certification would be an asset but is not a requirement

Compensation:

$16.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus gratuities and benefits (benefits to be determined based on time employed within the company).
