The Role: Foster Care Recruitment Coordinator (Full Time)
The Foster Care Recruitment Coordinator actively engages with the community to identify and recruit prospective foster families. These outgoing and self-driven individual builds relationships and inspires parents to consider fostering. They will guide foster families through the entire onboarding process, providing essential support and resources to ensure they are prepared for their fostering role while maintaining compliance with all regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Recruitment & Community Engagement
Connect and inspire foster care candidates to see the difference they can make in the lives of children and youth.
Present to and engage with large groups to raise awareness of fostering and recruit families to join the foster care community.
Provide education sessions to increase understanding and awareness of fostering.
Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including sector partner agencies, Child and Family Services, and internal Trellis teams.
Support and collaborate with Trellis' communications team to develop and implement a social media strategy for recruitment and awareness.
Foster Parent Support
Evaluate the suitability of foster parent candidates.
Support families through onboarding by assisting with training, online platform account setup, and system navigation.
Arrange SAFE home study assessments and conduct environmental safety assessments for pre-licensing visits.
Provide ongoing support, guidance, leadership, and supervision to foster families until they are fully licensed.
Manage and support foster family candidates during any crisis situations that arise.
Maintain and review files to meet accreditation standards.
Other duties as required.

nowledge and Skills Expectations
Degree or education in human services with a minor in communications or marketing.
Ability to work flexible hours (including weekends) according to the needs of the organization.
Travel is required between Trellis locations and within the community (including surrounding cities/towns); the candidate will need to commute by personal vehicle or use public transit confidently.
Strong technology literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft 365 and other computer systems (such as government websites, etc.).
A clear Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check within the past 6 months (we can assist with this upon hire if needed).
Proficiency in navigating different channels to recruit foster families and build relationships.
Reporting Relationship:
This position directly reports to a Trellis Program Manager.
