We are seeking a skilled Foreman to join our team to lead concrete and formwork projects. The position will be based on site to manage the crew and daily, weekly operations of the job. This position is supported by a project manager to oversee the project hand in hand for its successful delivery. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction methods and materials, with the ability to read blueprints and schematics effectively. This role involves working on various projects, including installation of footings, foundations, concrete pools and occasionally retaining walls. We take on unique and interesting projects throughout the South Shore, HRM, and Truro areas. There will be the occasional travel and staying in lodging for short periods of time.
This job for the right candidate will come with a company vehicle as well.
Responsibilities
Lead crew in daily and weekly activities, ensure proper materials and tools are mobilized to job site.
Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure timelines and project accuracy and delivery of materials and equipment.
Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
Assemble Formwork systems for all foundation types
On some projects we preform our own rebar if straightforward installation.
ICF Foundation knowledge, we can also provide training.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications.
Utilize hand tools and heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
Perform concrete installation and finishing tasks as required for foundation.
Carry out caulking tasks to seal joints and seams for weatherproofing.
Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure project completion.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Lift heavy materials as needed during construction activities.
Work with site supervisors and apprentices in a team environment
Experience
Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role within the construction industry.
Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics is essential.
Familiarity with formwork installation techniques and masonry work is preferred.
Experience operating heavy equipment safely is a plus.
Strong skills in using hand tools effectively for various carpentry tasks.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
