This position is located in Windsor, Ontario, one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. We have a broad range of integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical and packaging services to offer full-service turnkey solutions.
Reporting to the Manager, Formulations R&D, the Formulation Scientist will execute on assigned aspects of pre-formulation studies, formulation development and optimization studies, and informal and formal stability studies as directed with quality, speed and efficiency supporting multiple projects in the portfolio. The Formulation Scientist will have familiarity with various aspects of the drug development process in a regulated environment, including topics such as Quality by Design (QbD), Design of Experiment (DOE), and compliance with all regulatory guidelines, all while maintaining patient first culture. The Scientist will be able to work independently with direction from senior members within the group.
- Regular working hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
18-month contract
This position is 100% on-site at the Windsor site.

The Role
Execute against assigned formulation lab activities with quality, speed and efficiency to ensure on-time deliver.
Working knowledge and consistent execution of formulation development, excipient compatibility assessment, data analysis and good documentation practices.
Participate in the development and troubleshooting of formulations and assessment techniques in a timely manner to support internal and customer needs, complaints and investigations.
Communicate project assignment status, ensuring timely identification and escalation of issues, and present project information at local reviews and with customers as appropriate.
Maintain compliance with training, best practices, safety and cleaning requirements.
Operate under and maintain GMP/GLP conditions.
Must be able to work extended hours, weekends as needed, especially when problems occur or when deadlines must be met.
Perform other duties as required.
The Candidate
Bachelor's degree in science or related field is required, MSc Degree is an asset.
Minimum 1+ years of experience in a formulations role in a lab setting is preferred, Experience working in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility is an asset.
Familiarity with typical formulation and analytical approaches for pharmaceutical development.
Excellent time management, organizational skills, troubleshooting and problem solving.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office.
Strong interpersonal skills are essential in dealing with people at all levels and in a variety of functional areas, able to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results.
