Our client in Winnipeg is actively looking for Forklift operator to join their team.

Title: Forklift operator
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Length of Assignment: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: $19/hour

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts to load and unload 5-tonne containers onto trucks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Safely maneuver forklifts in tight spaces, maintaining control and preventing damage to containers, equipment, and surroundings.
• Follow loading procedures and guidelines to ensure proper distribution and secure stacking of loads inside containers.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections of forklifts and perform routine maintenance as required.
• Collaborate with warehouse team members to coordinate loading schedules and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Adhere to safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following WHIMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) guidelines.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, ensuring efficient workflow and reducing the risk of accidents.
• Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, such as inventory management or general labor tasks.

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a forklift operator, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Proven experience in loading and unloading 5-tonne containers using forklifts.
• Familiarity with working in a Less Than Truckload (LTL) environment is a must.
• Possess a valid forklift operator\'s license/certification.
• Hold a valid WHIMIS certification, demonstrating knowledge of hazardous material handling and safety protocol.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, and operate a forklift for extended periods.
