Forklift Operator - Overnight (Full-Time)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced

Overnight Forklift Operator

to support container offloading, load staging, and outbound operations during the night shift. This role plays a key part in ensuring DOL containers and pallets are offloaded, staged, and prepared accurately and efficiently for next-day deliveries, in accordance with established SOPs.

Shift:

11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night Shift)

Pay:

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Container Offloading & Receiving

Offload

DOL regular (non-seasonal) containers as first priority

, followed by seasonal containers Safely operate propane, electric, and slip sheet forklifts Inspect skids during offloading and report any damaged or spilled product immediately, noting whether damage occurred upon receipt or after receiving Rebuild pallets as required to ensure stability and readiness for outbound shipments Stage skids accurately by

in designated staging areas with clear labeling Complete daily forklift pre-trip inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns

Outbound Load Staging

Begin load staging immediately after all daily containers are offloaded Stage loads according to

Driver Load Sheets

provided by the Crossdock Coordinator Stage all next-day seasonal pallets together with regular outbound freight Review and confirm next-week seasonal pallets by end of shift and communicate any missing or pending items Ensure all outbound loads are staged and ready by

5:00 AM

Driver & Operations Support

Assist drivers with locating and loading pallets beginning at

6:00 AM

Support inbound and outbound freight flow in coordination with warehouse leadership Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments and follow shipment instructions carefully

Warehouse & Downtime Tasks

Maintain container cleanliness by sweeping floors and removing debris after offloading Report any unusual messes, contamination, or safety concerns Perform general warehouse duties including: Inventory counts Cleaning and organizing staging, receiving, and storage areas Managing cooler and freezer freight Organizing empty pallets, wrap, and waste

Skills & Abilities

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision once trained Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs and load instructions Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict staging deadlines Physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused Effective communication and teamwork skills Proven forklift operation experience with a clean safety record

Requirements

Valid Forklift License Previous overnight / night shift experience (

required

) Strong work ethic and commitment to safety and accuracy Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to reliably commute to Vancouver, BC, or relocate prior to starting work (required)
