Operates powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries. Moves them to and from storage areas and loading docks into trucks or storage facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
Obtains copy of production schedule or shipping order and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the warehouse
Unload shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas
Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances
Checking loads are secure
Stacking empty pallets
Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck's battery and lubricating equipment
Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
Follow all instructions provided by Warehouse Manager or Plant Manager
Required Skills/Experience
High school diploma or previous warehouse experience
High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe environment
Good math, language and reading skills required
Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records
Forklift certification
Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
Physical Requirements
Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
Having a good sense of balance
Having good-eye hand foot coordination
Ability to asses weights and judge distances and heights
Working with large groups of people
