WHAT\'S THE JOB?

As a remote Cook, you work under the authority of the operation assistant. You will play a vital role in the operation of a tree planting and SOPFEU camp in Abitbi, Quebec. You are responsible for all aspects of food production from meal planning, safe food preparation and cleanliness of the remote kitchen and remote dining areas.

Your work will include:

• Handling, preparation, production, and timely service of breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in accordance with approved methods and standards.
• Preparing meals according to budget guidelines.
• Preparing adequate quantities of the menu choices by following all production quotas set.
• Following proper storage and rotation of all food supplies.
• Preparing and sending food orders

QUEL EST L\'EMPLOI?
Le cuisinier sur campement forestier travaille sous l\'autorit\xc3\xa9 de l\'adjointe aux op\xc3\xa9rations. Il joue un role crucial dans l\'op\xc3\xa9ration des camps de planteur d\'arbres et de la SOPFEU, en Abitbi au Qu\xc3\xa9bec. Le cuisinier est responsable de la planification des repas, de la pr\xc3\xa9paration s\xc3\xa9curitaire des aliments et de l\'\xc3\xa9tat g\xc3\xa9n\xc3\xa9ral de la cuisine et de la salle \xc3\xa0 manger. Ses responsabilit\xc3\xa9s incluent (mais ne se limitent pas \xc3\xa0):

• G\xc3\xa9rer la pr\xc3\xa9paration, la production avec les heures de services des d\xc3\xa9jeuners, d\xc3\xaeners, soupers et collations selon les m\xc3\xa9thodes de travail et standars d\'Horizon Nord.
• Pr\xc3\xa9parer les repas dans le respect des budgets.
• Pr\xc3\xa9parer en quantit\xc3\xa9 ad\xc3\xa9quate les choix de menus en suivant les quotas de production fix\xc3\xa9s.
• Assurer un rangement et une rotation ad\xc3\xa9quate des aliments.
• Pr\xc3\xa9parer et envoyer les commandes de nourritures.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Degree in hospitality, catering, or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience;
• Vegetarian cooking skills
• Applicants must have a current Food Safety certificate;
• Camp cooking experience is an asset;
• High standards in maintaining a clean and organized Kitchen;
• Computer knowledge - Microsoft Office Suite: Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Scheduling Software;
• Be able and willing to travel and work in remote areas on a regular rotation;
• Ability to express yourself in French.

Qualifications et exigences

• \xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8bDipl\xc3\xb4me en h\xc3\xb4tellerie, restauration, ou combinaison \xc3\xa9quivalente de formation technique et/ou d\'exp\xc3\xa9rience connexe ;
• Cuisine v\xc3\xa9g\xc3\xa9tarienne;
• Formation de Gestionnaire en hygi\xc3\xa8ne et salubrit\xc3\xa9 du MAPAQ est fortement recommand\xc3\xa9e;
• Exp\xc3\xa9rience dans les camps d\'h\xc3\xa9bergement de la main-d\'\xc5\x93uvre en r\xc3\xa9gions ou milieux \xc3\xa9loign\xc3\xa9s (campements) est un atout.
• Assiduit\xc3\xa9 dans l\'organisation et le nettoyage de la cuisine
• Connaissance de l\'informatique - Suite Microsoft Office : Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Scheduling Software;
• \xc3\x8atre apte et pr\xc3\xaat \xc3\xa0 voyager et travailler en milieux \xc3\xa9loign\xc3\xa9s selon des rotations r\xc3\xa9guli\xc3\xa8res;
• Capacit\xc3\xa9 \xc3\xa0 s\'exprimer en fran\xc3\xa7ais.
