As a FRIAA Coordinator, you will play a vital role in the Canfor Woodlands team, leading the administration and development of Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta (FRIAA) projects across our Alberta operations.

Based in Alberta and reporting to the Woodlands Manager, you'll be the go-to expert on FRIAA-related initiatives, guiding everything from proposal development to project execution and financial reporting.

A day in the life of a FRIAA Coordinator includes:
Administering, managing, and reporting on FRIAA projects aligned with Canfor's forest management goals in Alberta
Writing and submitting detailed project proposals to FRIAA
Exploring and developing new project opportunities that align with Canfor's environmental, economic, and social objectives
Tracking project budgets, submitting progress and final reports to FRIAA
Collaborating with divisional accountants for financial tracking and fund transfers
Providing letters of support for non-Canfor proposed projects
Coordinating Canfor's participation in non-Canfor-led FRIP projects
Communicating regularly with Alberta Woodlands Divisions and the Canfor Alberta Project Funding Committee
Engaging with stakeholders, industry members, and the broader forestry community
Integrating operational and fiber considerations into a strategic, long-term FRIP plan for Canfor
Emphasizing forest research, planning, and resource value in project design and execution
For this role, you'll come equipped with:
Post-secondary education in forestry or natural resource management
Minimum 5 years of experience in forestry, natural resources, or a related field
Eligibility for registration with the Alberta Association of Forest Management Professionals (considered an asset)
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and project management abilities
Experience in technical writing and/or reporting
Working knowledge of FRIAA programs and requirements (preferred)
