Job Description

As Foreman, Painting, you will be responsible for the execution of the daily production plan provided to you. In addition to being responsible for a production team, you will maintain and improve operational activities relating to production in a safe and respectful manner. More specifically, you will:


Collaborate with your immediate supervisor to establish plans to ensure that production tasks are completed effectively and efficiently; Communicate these plans clearly and effectively, and monitor progress until completion; Know your team members' daily operations, be responsible for their actions, promptly and appropriately respond to their questions in order to achieve expected results; Plan daily operations so that planned production is achieved; Be prepared to discuss everyday obstacles in achieving planned production, and suggest solutions to meet deadlines; Conduct follow-ups, as needed, if certain work performed does not meet quality standards and needs to be redone; Attend and participate in production and management meetings, as required; Direct the painters under your supervision to ensure their motivation, satisfaction, loyalty and effectiveness as team members dedicated to achieving the standards and objectives of the production team, as well as the organization in general; Work with the superintendent in completing painters' performance reviews, probationary and otherwise; Ensure that painters under your supervision receive the training required for their work; Respond appropriately to actions requiring disciplinary measures, in cooperation with managers from Production, Human Resources and OHS departments, as required.

Requirements:




Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (DVS in bodywork, industrial or building painting); Work experience in the industrial field; Five (5) years or more of experience in personnel management; Experience working in a unionized environment; Working knowledge of MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Functional knowledge of English, spoken and written, would be an asset; Successful completion of the investigation and security clearance process required by the federal government's Contract Security Program.
