VIKING PROJECTS LTD IS RAMPING UP FOR A GREAT SEASON! JOIN OUR TEAM OF PIPELINE PROFESSIONALS! WE ARE LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCED FOREMAN! CAMP BASED WORK
The Foreman is responsible for assisting with supervision of crew members, assigning daily tasks, and completing paperwork related to the job. The Foreman acts as the back up for the Supervisor on site and assists with overseeing all staff and subcontractors on site, which may include: labourers, welders, pipefitters, and equipment operators. The Foreman is versatile and able to jump into any role as needed and provide assistance to complete jobs.
Main Functions:

  • Maintain a strong Safety Management Program through:
    • Attending and participating in daily toolbox and safety meetings
    • conducting site inspections and FLHA's
    • Ensuring the safe operation of all equipment
  • Demonstrate excellent safety leadership abilities- lead by example
  • Be an active field presence, promoting and enforcing VPL core values and safety standards
  • Ensure project activities meet company and regulatory requirements for compliance, health, safety, and environment
  • Coach and mentor construction crew on project safe work practices, quality workmanship, productivity, and schedule time lines
  • Provide adequate supervision and daily work instructions
  • Coordinate with support personnel to schedule supplies and equipment to meet schedule time lines
  • Assist in the following:
    • document control
    • work flow
    • quality assurance and control
  • Ensure development of workers in the Competency Program
  • Assist in developing and implementing project cost savings strategies and assist in monitoring costs and schedules on projects
  • Ensure that the following tools and equipment in/on their trucks are maintained at all times
    • cell phones, 2 way radios
    • pintle hitch
    • wrenches for bolt ups
    • pipe wrenches, screw drivers, fencing tools
    • fist aid kit, fire extinguisher
    • slip tank with filter
    • tools for testing


Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 5 Years Pipeline Experience
  • Knowledge and experience with applicable standards, procedures, and recommended practices for pipeline construction
  • Great degree of manual dexterity and physically fit
  • Demonstrated Supervisory Skills
  • Able to interpret and execute complex instructions
  • Can clearly communicate in written and verbal
  • Global Ground Disturbance for Supervisors
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple and changing Priorities
  • Detail oriented with an aptitude for metrics
  • Strong drive to complete assigned task and projects
  • High integrity
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and Site Docs - or similar program)
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel
  • Cell phone and truck with tools
