Job Summary:

MCITY Support Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Foot Care Nurse to provide specialized foot care services to clients in the Oakville area. The Foot Care Nurse will play a vital role in promoting the health, comfort, and mobility of our clients by assessing, treating, and educating them on proper foot care practices.

Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive foot and lower limb assessments, including vascular and neurological assessments.
Perform routine foot care procedures, including nail trimming, callus and corn removal, and treatment of fungal infections.
Identify and manage foot conditions such as ingrown toenails, diabetic foot ulcers, and other foot-related complications.
Educate clients and their families on proper foot hygiene, footwear selection, and preventative foot care measures.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, documenting assessments, treatments, and recommendations.
Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and hygienic environment for clients.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians and chiropodists, to ensure coordinated client care.
Stay current with best practices and advancements in foot care nursing.

Required Education and Qualifications:

Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) diploma from an accredited nursing program.
Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
Certification in Advanced Nursing Foot Care is preferred.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Recent Vulnerable Sector Police Check.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience as an RPN or RN.
Experience in providing foot care services, preferably in a community or long-term care setting.
Knowledge of foot and lower limb anatomy, physiology, and common foot conditions.

License/Certification:

Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel to client locations.
Valid Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Salary Range:

$35 - $40 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
