Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of managing a retail food operation including; grocery, bakery, deli, meat, produce, at the Unity Food Store. This position requires a dynamic self starter with demonstrated experience and high standards in the areas of merchandising and guest service. Applicants must have a positive, ambitious attitude, strong organizational skills and the ability to set clear, attainable and measurable goals for their team. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are critical in this environment. The primary responsibilities include:

• Build and lead a high-performance team that delivers on budgeted targets by maximizing the operational efficiency.
• Participate in the development and implementation of business plans that include growth targets and profitability, as well as develop and implement merchandising initiatives.
• Communicate and consult with Division Manager about daily operations, budget plans, sales, targets and other tasks.
• Lead the Food Store team in providing quality and fresh goods.
• Ensure inventories are managed and protected in compliance with management standards and practices to maintain high levels of accuracy and minimal losses.
• Provide superior leadership through coaching, performance management, and feedback to team members.
• Ensure company policies, best practices, training courses, and certifications are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Lead a culture of safety through coaching, monitoring and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Business degree, certificate or CRS Food Managers training and ADVANCE training will be considered an asset
• Knowledge of commodity sales, gross margin and inventory management
