The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Food Services, the Food Service Supervisor is responsible for assisting the manager in leading, planning, and organizing all aspects of Food Services (including patient and retail services) and ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained in a cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

• Assisting manager with Accreditation preparation, portfolio projects, and initiatives
• Approve staff payroll
• Assisting with staff attendance and performance management
• Interview & hire staff as required
• Preparation and monitoring of time schedules & attendance; replacing staff as required
• Supervision of preparing, assembly & delivery of patient meals and snacks, guest meals, cafeteria meals, and catering events (as required)

Hours of Work

Monday- Sunday, 7.5-hour shifts. Other shift times as required.

Your Qualifications

• Food Service Technology course or equivalent required
• Graduate of a 4-year nutrition degree preferred
• Food Handlers course & WHMIS an asset
• Experience in implementing strategies for healthy eating and revenue generation
• Excellent leadership, team building & interpersonal skills required
• Excellent communication (written & oral), accuracy & organizational skills required
• Proven skills in customer service required
• Superior supervision & decision making skills
• Proven time management skills and ability complete tasks within tight timelines
• Self-motivated
• Competencies in other languages are considered an asset
