About the job

As part of the Child and Parent Resource Institute (CPRI) team, your work as a Food Services Helper directly supports children and youth with complex mental health and developmental challenges. You'll help maintain a welcoming environment for children, youth, families, and staff by ensuring their nutritional needs are met. Your tasks will include:



Assisting in the preparation, service and delivery of meals, snacks, and therapeutic diet items Ensuring that residents and staff are provided with safe, nutritious quality meals Maintaining clean and sanitary food service areas, equipment, carts, refrigerators, and dishware Operating dishwashing machines and manually washing pots and pans Disposing of garbage and cleaning garbage receptacles and fridges Participating in the continuous quality improvement program

This an irregular on-call position and the hours of work ranges from 0 to 40 per week, based on operational needs.

Food Services Knowledge and Experience



You have experience working within a large food services operation You have knowledge of food preparation, service and delivery You have experience preparing a variety of diets You can maintain kitchen cleanliness as well as various kitchen records and logs You have knowledge of food safety practices as well as workplace health and safety regulations You have demonstrated ability to comply with organizational policies and procedures

Employees who do not provide proof of full vaccination will be deemed 'not vaccinated' under the Employer's policy and will be required to attend a vaccine education program, as determined by the Employer. Employees who are not vaccinated under the policy with a valid medical exemption will not be required to attend a vaccine education program. All employees working in congregate living settings must undergo regular rapid antigen testing, regardless of vaccination status.
