Job Description


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Experience in institutional food service operation will be an asset
  • Food Handler Certificate preferred
  • Applicants must be able to speak, read and write English and be capable of following oral and written instructions thoroughly
  • Ability to perform related duties including standing, bending, walking and pushing carts through the department and hospital
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain a friendly disposition with patients
  • Neat appearance, good attendance and work record are essential
  • Able to work in a refrigerated environment
  • Must wear safety shoes
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Delivering and serving meals to patients
  • Working on a belt line
  • Preparing patient meals/meal trays with dietary restrictions
  • Operating microwave/convection ovens
  • Operating and maintaining dish cleaning machines
  • Assisting with inventory as required
  • Delivering and retrieving meal carts and supplies
  • Pushing food supply carts between dock and department
  • Handling garbage bags
  • Maintaining work area/equipment to meet sanitation and safety standards
  • Reports directly to Food Services Supervisors
WAGE RATE:
