What you will do:
Reporting to the Food Services Coordinator in the Recreational Community Services Division, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Food and beverage preparation and service at The Benchwarmer, a fully licensed restaurant located in RIM Park Manulife Sportsplex & Healthy Living Centre
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area
Respond promptly to customer inquiries and requests, resolve customer concerns and complaints
Daily cash handling and associated reporting; reconcile and balance revenues
Compliance with Alcohol and Gaming Commission legislation
Provide excellent customer service to the public
Maintain inventory and control of bar stock, including the ability to position beverage drums with assistance
What you will bring:
Smart Serve Certified with knowledge of Alcohol and Gaming Commission legislation
Previous bartending experience is preferred
Previous cash-handling skills and / or experience balancing revenues is an asset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with other members of the Food Services team and City staff, as well as the general public
A passion for promoting and maintaining a healthy and safe workplace and the ability to work respectfully and effectively in a team environment
Strong commitment to delivering quality customer service
Demonstrated commitment to Reconciliation, Equity, Accessibility, Diversity and Inclusion
Hours of work:
Up to 24 hours per week including morning, evening, weekend and holiday shifts. Work hours are subject to flexibility and change based on organizational needs.
Please note, hours of work may be outside of public transportation operation hours
What we will require:
A Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check satisfactory to the City
Must be at least 18 years of age
Proof of your current and valid certificate(s), licenses and/or educational qualification, if applicable
