What you will do:
Reporting to the Coordinator of Food Services in the Recreational Community Services Division, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepare and serve concession food and beverages at the City of Waterloo's recreation facilities in a professional, efficient and healthy manner, including catering duties as assigned
Respond promptly to customer inquiries and requests, resolve customer concerns and complaints
Daily cash handling and associated reporting; reconciling and balancing revenues
Knowledge of and compliance with regulations and safe food handling procedures
Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area
Providing excellent customer service to the public
Other related duties as assigned
What you will bring:
Previous work experience with food and beverage preparation would be an asset
Previous customer service experience would be considered an asset
Safe food handling certification would be required
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with other members of the Food Services team and City staff, as well as the general public
Previous cash-handling skills and / or experience balancing revenues is preferred
Effective Communication & interpersonal skills for communicating with the team & general public
A passion for promoting and maintaining a healthy and safe workplace and the ability to work respectfully and effectively in a team environment
Strong commitment to delivering quality customer service
Demonstrated commitment to Reconciliation, Equity, Accessibility, Diversity and Inclusion
Hours of work:
Up to 24 hours per week including evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
Please note, hours of work may be outside of public transportation operation hours
What we will require:
A Police Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check satisfactory to the City
Must be at least 15 years of age
Proof of your current and valid certificate(s), licenses and/or educational qualification, if applicable
