Major functions:
Train of all Food Services volunteers under the direction of the Food Services Manager.
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in the various kitchen/cafe areas.
Assume responsibility for the complete kitchen operation in the absence of the Food Services Manager.
Prepare volunteer schedules for the kitchen/dining room/cafe, and monitor staffing levels in conjunction with determined needs.
Ensure consistent food preparation and maintain the highest calibre of food presentation.
Support Departments as required for Special Events and catering requests.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years' combined experience in the trade of cook
Extensive knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards.
Minimum 3 years' experience as a Sous Chef or Chef in a high-volume environment.
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Safe Food Certification.
Culinary Education Trade Papers, Red Seal or Equivalent an asset.
G Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
