CG20 - $21.26 - $23.06 per hour.

About the Position

College of the North Atlantic's Happy Valley-Goose Bay Campus is currently seeking applications from qualified individuals to fill short-term staffing requirements that may arise from sick leave, vacation leave, or an increase in operational demands. This position would be casual in nature; hours will vary; and the successful candidate must be available on short notice for day, evening and/or weekend shifts. Candidates must be flexible in order to meet operational needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Food Service Worker will perform standardized food services work for College of the North Atlantic's Happy Valley-Goose Bay campus by:

Assisting with preparation work in the kitchen - chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and setting up food stations.

Reheating and serving meals - safely reheat meals following food safety practices and present meals in an appetizing manner.

Cleaning and sanitizing work stations - regularly wiping surfaces, sanitizing high-touch areas, ensuring that the kitchen meets food safety and occupational health standards.

Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment - properly sanitize and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools.

Operating a computerized cash register - process cash, debit, and credit transactions, and provide professional customer service.

Other duties as it relates to food service may be required.

Graduation from high school.

Relevant experience working in an institutional and/or industrial kitchen.

When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided.

Conditions of Acceptance

May require periods of kneeling, bending, walking and standing, which may result in fatigue; lifting and moving of objects; and occasionally using machinery and equipment.

Shift work and weekend work is required.

This is a casual position. Scheduling and hours of work may vary, with no guaranteed weekly hours.
