Manager in training for high school cafeteria. Responsible for all operations of food service cafeteria. Supervises a small team of 3-4 employees who prepare, cook, serve food, clean premises, collect money, operate POS systems and wash dishware. Participate in preparing and cooking meals, baking and short order menu items. Trains staff as it relates to food preparation procedures and health and safety regulations. Hours are based on school calendar year. Which will include summer break, winter breaks and PA Days off as directed by the school board. To start ASAP.
Manager will be responsible for ordering food through on-line ordering, inventory, proper food rotation, menu development. Other manager duties include payroll and daily cash balancing, and bank deposits. Existing knowledge of computer based programs Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and general computer usage is recommended.
Job Duties
Provides excellent customer service, in a Cafeteria Style setting, reinforcing and leading by example; addresses customer concerns in a professional manner; implement and respond to inquires as required
Employee management; Recruitment and selection as required, including posting vacant positions, retrieving and reviewing resumes, conducting interviews and completing new hire packages for Human Resources and Payroll
Reviews, monitors and logs all incoming mail and supplier invoices; reviews and completes payroll entries daily
Ensures areas are safe, clean and well-organized to meet all customer, client and company needs
Prepares and completes all daily cash reconciliation reports
Completes and submits daily, weekly and monthly financial reports and inventories as directed
Ensures that staff orientation, training and development activities, including Health & Safety training are according to policy, procedure and guidelines
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years management in a food service setting required
Previous experience in the Hospitality
Solid knowledge of food service principals, processes, procedures, policies, directives and guidelines
Good proficiency and experience with word processing (MS Word), spreadsheets (MS Excel), company software and database programs
Effective communications and organizational skills
Maintains incoming supplier invoices and files
Ability to maintain confidentiality where mandated or required, particularly as it relates to company business, financial and employee / HR information
Solid knowledge of customer service skills to ensure excellent customer service to client and customers
Ability to lead, co-ordinate and supervise the completion of work, providing day-to-day oversight; to make recommendations into the hiring, performance evaluation and discipline of staff
Current Safe Food Handlers Certificate
Current CPR, First Aid and WHMIS Training would be an asset
