We are an authentic Nigerian restaurant bringing the vibrant flavors of West Africa to the Canadian dining scene. We are seeking a food Service Supervisor with hands-on experience in restaurant operations and a very strong understanding of Calabar food .
In this role, you will oversee daily operations within the food service department, ensuring high standards of food preparation, customer service, and team management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the food industry, with proven leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Duties
Supervise daily food service operations, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Ensure that Nigerian dishes are prepared and presented correctly.
Manage food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality and presentation.
Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure accurate transactions using POS systems, including Micros POS.
Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance while fostering a positive team environment.
Conduct interviews for new hires and participate in staff onboarding processes.
Maintain inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to create menus that meet customer preferences while adhering to budgetary constraints.
Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed in accordance with local laws and company policies.
Experience
minimum of 5 years experience in food service or restaurant management is required. (preferably in calabar cuisine)
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations is essential.
Supervising experience is necessary, with demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively.
Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems is a must; experience with Micros POS is preferred.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with guests and staff alike.
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques is crucial.
