Key Qualifications:
Grade 12 education or equivalent
Knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP) an asset.
Valid food handlers certificate
Previous hospital experience working in Nutrition & Food Services an asset
Ability to work under minimal supervision to complete assigned tasks
Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential
Customer service skills essential
Basic math skills required
Ability to work as part of a team
A positive work and attendance record is essential
Position Summary:
Tray delivery to units
Nourishment delivery to patients room
Transportation of patient food carts to and from patient care unit
Meal service (meal tray assembly)
Portion hot beverages
Work in dish room/ cleaning duties
Clean pots/ collect garbage, sanitize garbage containers, clean up spills
Performs other related duties as required
Language Ability:
Effective verbal/written communication skills in English are essential. This includes the ability to read and write
Physical Demands:
Must have the physical strength to meet requirements of job
Considerable walking, lifting, standing and bending
Concentration with attention to detail, especially when working on the patient food service beltline
Standing for long periods of time in one spot
Working in both hot and cold temperature environments
