We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of our food service establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining high standards of food quality and service.
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the cafeteria
Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
Recruit staff and oversee staff training
Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
Control inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices
Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed
Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets or receptions.
Supervise and coordinate daily food service operations, including kitchen and dining areas.
Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance to ensure efficient operation and excellent customer service.
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain appropriate stock levels to meet demand.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling procedures.
Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems; ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
Conduct interviews for new staff positions as needed, ensuring a strong team is in place.
Requirements
Proven experience in food service management or a related field, preferably in a restaurant or hotel setting.
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and menu development.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong leadership skills with experience in interviewing and training staff members.
Bartending/Barista experience is a plus but not required.
