POSITION SUMMARY
CHEO offers its patients hotel-style food services. Room service at CHEO is very much like the room service you would find at any hotel.
The room service initiative has been well received by patients and their families and it has been a success story for the hospital. We are in the process of launching our patient ordering app in August.
In our retail locations we offer our own Crafted at CHEO brand for our induction style concept in our Cafeteria. Our second floor shop offers Mr Sub, Pizza Pizza and we proudly brew Starbucks coffee. As part of our retail umbrella we operate the Treehouse Gift Shop which offers wide array of Plush, Lego and other brands for our patients, families and staff.
As a Food Service Attendant at CHEO you be responsible for:
Preparation and handling of food items in accordance to department regulations
Preparation of formula feeds
Patient tray set up and assembly
Delivery and pick up trays to patient areas
Preparation and set up of catering functions
Cash and closing procedures
Operation of dish machine
Maintenance of safe and sanitary conditions in work areas
Work in retail locations (Mr Sub, Pizza Pizza, Starbucks)
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Criminal Record Check (Essential)
Grade 12 diploma (Essential)
Demonstrated initiative, team work and flexible work schedule (Essential)
Demonstrated skills in dealing with the public (Essential)
Demonstrated excellent communication skills (Essential)
Ability to work with minimal supervision (Essential)
Minimum 6 months experience in food service operation (Essential)
Physical strength sufficient to correspond to job requirements (Essential)
Ability to prioritize (Essential)
Bilingualism (English and French) (Preferred)
Successful completion of Food Handler Certification (Preferred)
This assignment may be extended or shortened based on operational needs.

RESUME DES FONCTIONS
Le CHEO offre a ses patients des services de restauration de style hotelier. Dans nos commerces de detail, nous offrons notre propre marque Crafted par CHEO pour notre concept de style induction dans notre cafeteria. Notre cafe situe au deuxieme etage propose des produits Mr Sub, Pizza Pizza et nous preparons fierement du cafe Starbucks. Dans le cadre de nos commerces de vente au detail generalistes, nous exploitons le Treehouse Gift Shop qui offre un large eventail de produits de marques Plush, Lego et autres pour nos patients, nos familles et notre personnel.
En tant que prepose(e) aux Services alimentaires au CHEO, vous serez responsable de ce qui suit :
Preparer et manipuler les aliments conformement aux reglements du Ministere.
Preparer les aliments pour nourrissons.
Preparer les plateaux des patients et les disposer dans le bon ordre.
Apporter les plateaux aux unites des patients, puis aller les rechercher.
Preparer et installer les services de restauration.
Suivre les processus de transaction et de fermeture de la caisse.
Utiliser le lave?vaisselle.
Maintenir l'hygiene et la securite des aires de travail.
Travailler dans des points de vente au detail (Mr Sub, Pizza Pizza, Starbucks)
Accomplir d'autres taches selon les besoins.
QUALIFICATIONS
Verification du casier judiciaire (VCJ) (Essentiel)
Diplome d'etudes secondaires (Essentiel)
Esprit d'initiative et esprit d'equipe manifestes, horaires de travail souple (Essentiel)
Entregent manifeste avec le public (Essentiel)
Manifestation d'excellentes aptitudes a la communication (Essentiel)
Capacite de travailler avec un minimum de supervision (Essentiel)
Au moins 6 mois d'experience a l'organisation de services de restauration (Essentiel)
