About the role

.

The position is a 1-year, full-time, hourly, contract role for a Food Service Assistant, reporting to the Cafeteria & Banquet Lead. The role involves working independently as part of a team to maintain cleanliness, tidiness, safety, and presentability of all kitchen facilities, and promptly reporting any safety or hygiene concerns.

What you'll be doing.

Determine food inventory needs, stocking and ordering.*
Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing and preparing sauces.*
Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sauteing, to specified recipes and standards.*
Ensure the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines.*
Other related duties as may be required.*

What you'll need to be successful.

Minimum high school education*
Experience of kitchen equipment and dangerous equipment such as knives.*
Required to obtain WHMIS certification.*
Previous Food and Banquet experience.*
Ability to work independently and produce high-quality food.*
High level of attention to detail.*
Good oral communication and team player.*
Positive and approachable manner.*
Enthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge plus those around you.*
Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes.*
High standards for food safety and cleanliness.*

Compensation Package

:

$20.15 - $ 21.34CAD hourly

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
