The Food Program Supervisor is responsible for working within the vision, mission and relevant strategic priorities of Neighbours Community Homes (Neighbours) to coordinate and oversee a Food Program to provide education and life skills to Neighbours members in the areas of food handling and preparation. Responsible for the overall implementation and development of food-related services and for ensuring that the Food Program meets the needs of members of the organization.
This position is a senior member of the Program Team and reports to the Program Manager.
Responsible for supervising program staff, Community Kitchen Facilitators and Member Cooks, ensuring standards of safety, hygiene and good nutrition are maintained, grant writing and reporting, accounts payable and receivable, and purchasing and maintaining inventory of food and equipment.
Works collaboratively with the Social Recreation Supervisor to plan program activities, to ensure funding requirements are met, to seek ways and means of advancing the program, and to provide back up and program coverage when necessary.

Provides leadership within the organization.
Ensures optimum use of resources.
Recommend department strategies that support the strategic plan, including the identification and creation of policies and procedures necessary to ensure quality services.
Accountable for the promotion and consistent application of Neighbours policies and practices, including the Collective Agreement, to ensure the areas of responsibility adhere to and promote the mission and principles of the organization.
Promotes the organization at external venues.
Identifies and participates in the growth and expansion of the agency including identifying Human Resources needs, program and partnership opportunities.
Leads and manages projects.
Works collaboratively and cooperates with other members of the Management Team to ensure the organization operates efficiently and effectively.
