We are seeking a Food Processing Labourer to assist in the preparation and packaging of perishable, ready-to-eat meals, specifically tailored for individual resale. In this role, you will support the production of freshly prepared meals that meet the needs of our customers while ensuring adherence to food safety and quality standards. This position focuses exclusively on manufacturing prepared meals that are perishable and packaged for resale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and packaging of perishable meals for individual resale, ensuring that all products are packaged to meet freshness and quality standards.
• Operate food processing and packaging equipment such as mixers, slicers, and sealing machines.
• Monitor food quality during the production process, ensuring that meals are produced and packaged according to company specifications and health regulations.
• Adhere to strict food safety practices, ensuring a clean and sanitary working environment.
• Package individual meals accurately, labeling them according to required specifications.
• Assist in inventory management, ensuring raw materials are stocked and appropriately stored to maintain product freshness.
• Work efficiently and collaboratively with the production team to meet daily production goals.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the workspace, following health and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in food preparation, food packaging, or food production is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on food safety and product quality.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment in a fast-paced setting.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
• Basic English proficiency is required to understand food safety instructions, communicate within the team, and follow company guidelines.
• Knowledge of food safety standards is an asset.

Additional Information:

• Full-time hours: Minimum 30 hours per week.
• Salary: Competitive, based on experience.
• Location: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $16.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 45 per week
