Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and preparation. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items. Follow recipes and instructions from the prep manager to ensure consistency in food quality. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep room workspace, including proper storage of food items. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure safe handling and preparation of all food products. Support other kitchen staff during meal service, including serving dishes and assisting with cooking as needed. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to management for timely replenishment. Participate in regular cleaning duties, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred. Knowledge of food handling and safety practices is essential. Basic cooking skills with an understanding of meal preparation techniques. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff. Flexibility to work early mornings, as a majority of all prep hours take place prior to the restaurant being open. We are also looking for employees that are interested in transitioning from prep in the morning to kitchen in the afternoon to fulfil more hours. A passion for the food industry and a desire to learn and grow within the culinary field. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.20-$18.65 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 25 per week
