Ahhh..the food business -- it is becoming your passion. Working with the F&B Manager, you are becoming a stronger leader each day. Whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner, you and the restaurant and/or lounge team are ready to serve the customer and to deliver a great experience.

You are the F&B Supervisor and in this role you will:

  • Be your Manager\'s Right Hand -- supporting the restaurant manager by implementing/following policies and procedures and ensuring the team is training and ready to deliver his/her vision.
  • Keep your Eyes Open -- ensuring that all is as it should be. Is the restaurant clean, set and ready? Are staff fully knowledgeable about their jobs, the daily specials and which guests/groups may be dining in your restaurant that day? Are they looking sharp per hotel policy?
  • Be "the Communicator" -- ensuring the team -- from bus person to management to culinary staff -- are kept informed on a timely basis and know what it is they "need to know".
  • Walk the Talk -- being an extra set of hands for the staff, helping where needed -- serving, hosting, delivering, scheduling, training, interviewing, etc.
  • Be a Safety & Security Agent -- keeping your eyes open for issues with our property, guests or your coworkers and ensure all are working safely and securely, with the hotel\'s assets treated with the respect and care they deserve.

Position Summary: The main function of the F&B Outlets Supervisor is to oversee all aspects of the F&B Outlets operations, to insure first quality food and beverage service.

Accountabilities: The ultimate responsibility is to ensure that the F&B Outlets produces a quality product for the guests while remaining profitable and maximizing guest service.

Qualification Standards

Education & Experience:
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience food & beverage
  • Valid ServSafe Certificate preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Long hours sometimes required
  • Light work \xe2\x80\x93 Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels
  • Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for lengthy periods of time
Mental Requirements:
  • Oral and Written Comprehension and Expression - Must be able to convey & understand information and ideas in English
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from multiple sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
  • Mathematical Reasoning - Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
  • Multi-lingual skills helpful

Duties & Functions

Essential:
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely manner
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
  • Must have flexible availablility to work evenings, weekends and Holidays
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working
  • Comply at all times with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Assist in training of all positions within F&B Outlet
  • Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his or her attention
  • Monitor all phases of loss prevention in the Food & Beverage department
  • Participate in department meetings on a regular basis
  • Monitor quality of service and food and beverage
  • Ensure preparation of required reports
  • Ensure compliance with all local liquor laws, and health & sanitation regulations
  • Ensure departmental compliance with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensure that all side work is completed before shift employees leave property
  • Ensure that all restock and cleaning is performed at close of shift
  • Supervise staff including; assisting with interviews, hire, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach & council, recommend and conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, provide open communications, recommend discipline & termination as appropriate
  • Assist in preparing weekly payroll and tip distribution sheets
  • Check and respond to electronic communications in a timely fashion
  • Check appearance of all employees to ensure compliance with Standards of Appearance
  • Submit maintenance reports/requests to Engineering Department
  • Assist staff with proper completion of tip and closeout reports
