Under the direct supervision of the F&B Supervisor, this position is responsible for seating guests in a friendly and professional manner and providing food and beverage service while maintaining and recording daily sales on the P.O.S system. This position may be performed in a restaurant, on a casino floor, in a bar, at a special event, or other areas. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
Provides exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers in an upbeat, positive and professional manner;
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of all food and beverage items available at the restaurants;
Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen and bar.
Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter. Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy;
Help to maintain clean service areas.
Be knowledgeable with the current food and beverage programs, incentives and customer concerns by regularly liaising with the F&B Manager and Supervisor;
Answer general questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services in the premise.
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the F&B Manager and Supervisor.
Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests,ownership and employees)
Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
Education and Qualification Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent working experience;
Previous customer service experience required
Server or Beverage Host experience required
Previous cash handling and P.O.S system experience an asset;
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, customer service and communication skills;
Ability to professionally handle situations that may arise due to intoxicated guests
Ability to obtain NB Responsible Beverage Certification
Bilingualism in English and French as asset
Must be 19 years of age or older
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Work Environment Considerations
Fast paced with multiple priorities, deadlines and deliverables.
This role requires extended period of standing, walking, bending and may lift up to 35 lbs.
