We are seeking a creative and passionate Florist assistant. The ideal candidate will have a background in customer service; floral experience an asset. The job requires excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and a keen eye for detail, multi tasking, strong work ethic and dependability.
Duties
Assist the designer to design and create floral arrangements for events, weddings, funerals and special occasions.
Assist customers in selecting flowers and arrangements that meet their needs.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the floral shop, inside the building and out.
Manage inventory of flowers, plants, and supplies, ensuring freshness and quality; including managing stock and non perishables.
Operate POS systems for sales transactions and cash handling.
Packing and delivery of product.
Pick up at Wholesales and shopping as required.
Have experience with Dove or aptness to learn the system; as well as understanding shop's online commerce.
Skills
Prefer understanding and experience in floral design techniques and prefer an understanding of horticulture.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English; multilingual abilities are a plus.
Experience in retail sales, cashiering, and cash handling is preferred.
Strong organizational skills to manage inventory and shop operations efficiently.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Clean driver's abstract a must, ability to lift 50 pounds.
Must be energetic, able to stand for longer periods of time, strong work ethic and dependable.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
