FLORAL DESIGNER/CUSTOMER SERVICE PROFESSIONAL- Brief Overview

We are seeking a creative, focused, enthusiastic and team motivated Floral Designer/Customer Service Professional to join our team. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to arranging a variety of stunning florals for our customers, consulting with customers in the store or on the phone. You will be required to create customized floral designs, maintaining store standards, make various displays and maintain cleanliness while working with respect and kindness to our clientele and co-workers. You will also be responsible when necessary to deliver in the company vehicle arrangements to our customers. Our ideal candidate has a keen eye for style, awareness of current design trends, a passion for flowers, along with outstanding customer service skills. Knowledge of different flower types and their care requirements is crucial. Ultimately, the Floral Designer's role is to create gorgeous arrangements that satisfy customer's needs while maintaining the aesthetic and standards of our shop.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following health and safety guidelines.

Manage store displays, while keeping all areas attractive and well maintained, showcasing available flowers and arrangements.

When welcoming in store or answering the telephone you will work closely with clients to provide advice and suggestions to fulfill their vision for occasions such as weddings, funerals, birthdays, holidays or celebrations and events.

Plan details according to client's requirements, utilize knowledge of design and properties of materials, select appropriate standard design pattern. Establish price with the proper cost to retail guidelines, manage all details including the date, time, and place of delivery as well as process any required payments.

Inform customers about the care, maintenance, and handling of various flowers, foliage, indoor plants, and other items when necessary.

Receiving incoming orders (both floral and supplies); compare against the invoice and report any discrepancies. Finish by pricing and display/place all items in required locations.

Water various garden dishes, plants, and cut, condition, clean flowers and foliage for storage and display.

Perform office and retail service duties such as opening/closing of the store, serving customers, answering telephones, viewing/processing online orders through company website and Teleflora, selling giftware items and receiving payment.

Coordinate with Delivery Service team by arranging delivery of merchandises and/or services to ensure timing of delivery is accurate and quality/customer satisfaction is exceeded.

Assist in creating and changing in-store retail displays, designs, and looks to enhance the store's image by developing artistic/design concepts for decoration, exhibition, or commercial purposes.

Perform general daily and weekly duties in the store to ensure the shop is clean, organized and impeccably displayed.

If requested conduct classes and/or demonstrations, participate in Bridal Shows.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Floral Designer or similar role, minimum 2 years.

Knowledge of different types of flowers and their care.

Excellent design and creativity skills.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to multiply task while, remain organized and working under pressure, while still maintaining your composure and keeping a smile on your face.

Valid Ontario Class G License with a clean driving record.

Physically able to stand for long hours and lift heavy pots, buckets or boxes of flowers.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Floral design certification is an advantage but not required.

Work Environment:

We are a retail Flower Shop that has been in London since 1948. The role will involve weekends and holidays, especially during our peak season that include Christmas, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.

You will report to the owner.

Pay Range:

Will be based on previous experience.
