Position Overview

The Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering floral and supply products to our business customers safely and on time. Operating 1, 3, or 5-ton trucks, this role requires order consolidation, invoice verification, vehicle inspection, and route documentation. This role relies on a high level of detail orientation and care. The driver ensures all deliveries meet our high standards of accuracy and care, representing our company with professionalism at each destination.

Key Responsibilities

Duties consistent with the position include, but are not limited to:

Order Consolidation and Accuracy

Consolidate daily orders for efficient delivery, verifying each order's accuracy with invoices and product counts prior to loading. Coordinate with warehouse staff to prepare and load orders in line with schedule and safety standards.

Vehicle Inspection and Safety

Perform thorough inspections of assigned vehicles (1, 3, or 5-ton trucks), checking fluids, tire pressure, and overall roadworthiness before each shift. Report any maintenance needs or vehicle concerns to the Logistics Manager, ensuring timely repairs are completed. Adhere strictly to road safety regulations, prioritizing the safety of the vehicle, cargo, and all road users.

Delivery Execution

Drive 1, 3, or 5-ton trucks safely and efficiently along planned routes, adjusting as needed for traffic or weather conditions. Document routes, stops, and delivery times accurately, ensuring timely, complete deliveries in excellent condition. Carefully unload orders, obtaining customer confirmation and addressing delivery inquiries professionally.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain detailed logs of driving time, delivery stops, and completed deliveries for company records. Report any discrepancies, delivery issues, or customer feedback to the Logistics team promptly. Submit daily paperwork, including delivery confirmations and invoices, for record-keeping and processing.

Customer Service and Representation

Provide courteous, professional service to all customers, addressing basic inquiries or concerns effectively. Personal presentation must be professional, orderly and clean. Notify the Logistics Coordinator or Logistics Administrator of any changes to delivery times for proactive customer communication.

Work Schedules

Monday-Friday: 5:30AM to 2:00PM / 6:00AM to 2:30PM / 8:00AM to 4:30PM

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Regularly entering and exiting warehouse environments where flowers and supplies are stored and loaded, requiring familiarity with warehouse safety protocols.

Significant time spent driving in various weather conditions, such as rain, snow, and high temperatures, which may impact travel times.

Ability to lift and carry floral products and supply boxes weighing up to 25-50 lbs regularly and to use dollies or other equipment as needed.

Ability to perform physical tasks repetitively, such as climbing in and out of the truck, and good general physical stamina to meet the demands of daily driving and delivery schedules.

Qualifications:

Valid Class 5 and 7 driver's licenses, with a clean driving record; experience driving 1, 3, or 5-ton trucks preferred. Prior delivery driving experience, ideally in a wholesale or warehouse environment. Excellent attention to detail for verifying orders and completing documentation accurately. Physical ability to handle and transport heavy floral products safely. Professional personal presentation and communication skills Strong time management skills for efficient route management and customer service.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 32 per week
