JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Flooring and Cabinet Counter Salesperson is responsible for providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service to customers in the flooring and cabinet department. This includes advising customers on flooring products, cabinets, accessories, and appropriate tools. The Counter Salesperson should be familiar with various types of flooring and cabinet products, their installation processes, pricing, local building codes, and regulations related to their installation. The role involves preparing accurate quotations and assisting customers with product selection and tailored solutions for their needs.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greet customers within 30 seconds of their arrival at the flooring and cabinet counter. Identify customers' needs by asking open-ended questions related to flooring and cabinet choices. Provide detailed advice on different types of flooring (hardwood, tile, vinyl, etc.) and cabinets (kitchen, bathroom, etc.). Communicate the features, benefits, and options of products to customers effectively. Assist customers in selecting products that best fit their needs, considering style, budget, and specific requirements. Process special orders for non-stock or out-of-stock items. Maintain up-to-date information on product pricing and current market trends. Have a solid understanding of flooring and cabinet installation techniques. Provide accurate estimates and quotes for flooring and cabinet installation projects. Stay informed on competing products and market trends in flooring and cabinetry. Resolve customer complaints and concerns in a professional and efficient manner. Maintain knowledge of current inventory, including surplus or excess items. Suggest improvements to sales, service, or operational policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality of store and customer information. Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned by management. Follow all safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe working environment and report any hazards or unsafe behavior to management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduation or equivalent. Previous experience in flooring, cabinetry sales, or a related field is an asset. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Friendly, helpful attitude with a strong focus on customer service. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong mathematical skills for preparing quotes and managing pricing. Willingness to learn and stay up-to-date on flooring and cabinet products and trends. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Have knowledge of the 20-20 system Must be fluent in English and French.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
