The Floor Supervisor is responsible for the organization and daily flow of the prep and loading areas in the warehouse. They will oversee the movement of equipment, the organization of the prep bays, and the loading/unloading of trucks. The Floor Supervisor will work closely with the Warehouse Manager, Equipment Manager, and Logistics Manager to ensure equipment is processed on schedule. This position is comprised of an average 40-hour work week with the expectation that flexible and overtime will occur. This position is based out of our Toronto warehouse and is in-person/on-site.
Job Duties
Ensure health and safety policies are being followed by all members of the organization in order to maintain a safe working environment.
Ensure that safe work practices are followed by any full-time or part-time team members working with them.
Ensure that outbound orders are ready to ship by verifying their completion and including any accompanying paperwork
Inspect purchase orders and sub-rental equipment from vendors and verify quantity and condition for both incoming and outgoing shipments.
Maintain organization of "Other People's Gear" found among company inventory.
Participate in, and occasionally lead safe cargo handling, loading of vehicles and trucks, and secure loads in accordance with established safety requirements.
Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, trucks, and lifting devices.
Occasionally assist in the scanning of equipment on orders.
Provide direction and supervision to full-time and part-time warehouse staff to ensure all staff are on task.
Provide orientation and direction to part-time and casual labour operating and assisting in the warehouse.
Plan and execute the organization of the prep and dock areas by continually reviewing floor space requirements, loading timelines, and equipment priorities by using the tools provided.
Utilize the RFID systems available in the warehouse. Assist with system improvement by providing feedback and performing tests in collaboration with the Operations team.
Receive inbound shipments of orders and other deliveries and deliver to the appropriate internal departments.
Learn and maintain a sound knowledge of the customized rental software (IntelliEvent Lightning).
In conjunction with the Warehouse Manager, analyze warehouse operations and identify areas requiring improvement.
Operate lifting devices, such as forklifts and hoists.
Resolve any discrepancies in inventory or subrentals in conjunction with the Equipment Manager.
Assist with general warehouse/building organization and upkeep including executing/ assigning facility housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks.
Set a positive example amongst colleagues and liaise with clients and peers in a polite and professional manner.
Job Requirements
Three years of experience with managing and leading a team and five years of experience in warehouse setting
Ability to supervise and motivate a team
Strong formal and informal leadership skills
Ability to deal with a constantly changing environment and industry with patience and understanding
Working Conditions
Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Occasional overtime
Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment
Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 23 kilograms (51 lbs)

Other duties as necessary may be required and are expected from the position within reason.
Total Compensation
The position offers a total compensation of $26.00 per hour and eligibility for annual Company bonuses.
