Job Responsibilities:



This role combines water damage restoration and asbestos abatement responsibilities.

Cross-training will be provided

for candidates with experience in either field who are eager to expand their skills.

Key Responsibilities:



Document work status through photos and videos to ensure clear communication with managers and teams. Determine the category and extent of water loss and assess the scope of damage. Extract excess water from carpets, walls, and other surfaces using professional-grade equipment. Assist in identifying and removing non-restorable building materials and support demolition activities. Set up, monitor, and adjust drying equipment to manage moisture levels effectively. Perform cleaning and sanitization using bio-wash procedures and decontaminate affected areas. Manipulate, block, and relocate contents safely to prevent further damage. Conduct asbestos surveys, sampling, and assist in laboratory analysis. Prepare and implement asbestos management and abatement plans. Safely remove and dispose of asbestos-containing materials, ensuring compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations. Properly use, maintain, and inspect personal protective equipment (PPE). Clean and decontaminate work areas post-asbestos removal. Operate specialized equipment for asbestos detection, water extraction, and drying. Maintain accurate records of asbestos abatement and restoration activities. Provide guidance on asbestos safety and restoration best practices. Communicate with clients and stakeholders on project status and safety protocols. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient, high-quality completion of each project.

Requirements



Not necessary require experience in restoration but would help to have someone with relevant experience Valid Driver's Licence with a clean driver abstract. Experience driving and parking a cube truck or full-sized panel van is considered an asset. Ability to be on call. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work alone or with minimum supervision. Ability to address unexpected challenges and make quick decisions. Ability to lift industrial fans 30 - 40 lbs. Ability to load/unload wheeled industrial dehumidifiers. Knowledge of construction-related hand tools and power tools. Knowledge of building materials and basic construction fundamentals. Experience in custodial work, pressure washing, carpet cleaning, or carpet installation is considered an asset.
