Job Title: Floater Legal Assistant (Hybrid)
Location: Downtown Toronto
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
Employment Type: Full-Time, Hybrid
Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Floater Legal Assistant to join our prestigious client in Downtown Toronto. This hybrid position is well-suited for someone who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment. The successful candidate will assist lawyers across multiple practice areas and handle the preparation and management of a wide range of legal documents. This role provides excellent exposure to diverse legal matters and the chance to develop valuable experience within a top-tier law firm.
Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and finalize litigation documents, including:
• Motion records
• Pleadings
• Notices
• Affidavits & affidavits of documents
• Bills of costs and cost outlines
• Perform administrative duties such as:
• Opening and closing files
• Docketing and time entry
• Billing and basic accounting
• Prepare, organize, and manage correspondence and other legal documents
• Maintain professional communication with internal teams and external clients
• Provide support to lawyers across various practice areas as needed
• Ensure accuracy, quality, and confidentiality in all assigned tasks
• Exhibit initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness in daily responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant
• Completion of a recognized Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program
• Strong knowledge of:
• Rules of Civil Procedure
• Federal Court Rules
• Procedures at various court levels
• Familiarity with CaseLines and ACL is an asset
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
