Independent Contractor Opportunity - Flight Deck Integration & Human Factors Engineer

Location: Dorval, QC | Hybrid | 18-24 months | Mid-Senior Level

We are seeking an Independent Contractor to join a team focused on flight deck design and human factors in Dorval, QC. This role ensures that cockpit interfaces are ergonomic, intuitive, and compliant with aviation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain HMI design specifications for flight deck displays and controls Perform requirements capture, verification & validation Lead small projects and provide technical guidance Support development and certification testing (bench, simulator, aircraft) Ensure adherence to aerospace regulations and standards Conduct Human Error Analysis and assist in design reviews

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering + Human Factors training 6-9 years of experience in flight deck systems or avionics integration Knowledge of flight operations and aerospace regulations Familiarity with standards (MIL STD, SAE ARP, ARINC) Strong technical writing and communication skills

Nous recherchons un travailleur autonome/freelance pour rejoindre une equipe axee sur la conception du poste de pilotage et des facteurs humains/ergonomie cognitive a Dorval, QC. Ce role garantit que les interfaces du cockpit sont ergonomiques, intuitives et conformes aux normes aeronautiques.

Responsabilites cles :

Developper et maintenir les specifications de conception HMI pour les affichages et commandes du poste de pilotage Effectuer la capture des exigences, la verification et la validation Diriger de petits projets et fournir des conseils techniques Soutenir le developpement et les essais de certification (banc, simulateur, aeronef) Assurer le respect des reglementations et normes aeronautiques Realiser des analyses d'erreurs humaines et participer aux revues de conception

Exigences :

Diplome de baccalaureat en ingenierie + formation en facteurs humains/ergonomie cognitive 6 a 9 ans d'experience dans les systemes de poste de pilotage ou l'integration avionique Connaissance des operations de vol et des reglementations aeronautiques Familiarite avec les normes (MIL STD, SAE ARP, ARINC) Excellentes competences en redaction technique et en communication
