Summary
A Flight Crew Dispatcher is the Yellowknife based GSH representative and point of contact between the operations department and the operational aircrew working off the main base, subbases or at remote camps, mine sites where there is at least one and possibly more aircraft performing specialized functions for the client. Co-ordinates and schedules all crewing and related activity by GSH aircrew. Arranges and alters travel and roster through direct liaison with clients, GSH aircrew and operations staff. Monitors and records all activity to ensure compliance with client and GSH processes, procedures, and standards. Ensures all activities are reviewed for safety compliance and that those activities achieve the higher standard and are undertaken efficiently and profitably for the client. Their main duties include logging each call, providing answers to questions by retrieving information from the necessary departments and supervising the crews' routes to prioritize and organize their schedules.
Position Profile:
Maintain a listing of all on-duty and off-duty aircrew (flight and maintenance) staff and general understanding of their capabilities and qualification.
Maintaining an open channel of communication with Operations and Maintenance Managers.
Ensure assigned aircrew meets the client standards for minimum aircrew qualifications, currency, recency and flight and duty.
Ensure to communicate effectively with flight crews on rotation schedules and keeping flight crew schedules updated daily.
Ensure the aircrew travel assignments are coordinated through GSH Travel and this information is communicated to the crew and the client representative at the inbound site.
Maintain our HOC department schedules and assure employees are adhering to the requirements laid out in the Flight Dispatch Manual.
Be the EFB administrator
Other Duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
Skills and Knowledge:
2 years of related aviation experience preferred.
Experience in Logistical Coordination
Valid Passport
Radio Licence (Canadian)
Proficient in Window Office suite applications and ability to learn internal software systems.
Remote camp experience, utilizing helicopters is an asset.
