Summary

The \xe2\x80\x9cFlex Operator\xe2\x80\x9d is a role that spans a variety of craft and operation skill areas - the post-holder must be operationally competent in certain categories, at least 3 of which form a portfolio of specialization.

The posted role is seeking applicants with field experience in live sports to include established and proven skill sets in 3 of the following:

• Camera operator (HH/Hard/robotics)
• Audio assistant or audio operator
• Television assistant
• EVS operator
• Master control or transmission
• Video shading/painting and patching
• DED or comparable virtual ad insertion
• Graphics/bug operations
• Switcher/TD

Other skill areas may be considered depending on the candidate.

The ideal candidate sees themselves as very flexible, and is a multi-interest/multi-faceted operator who thrives when tasked with different areas of live television production. The candidate may wish to gain experience outside their current portfolio while continuing to excel in their current field or focus. For example, a candidate may currently work successfully today as a TVA, Audio assistant and camera operator, but wishes to expand into EVS. This is a unique opportunity to work in a chosen field of expertise, while exploring and learning longer-term.

The Flex Operator Position is full-time, reporting to the Operations Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

• Execute no fewer than 3 roles on a full-time basis with limited training required
• Training for role expansion over time into 1 or more additional roles
• Roles may be field or studio-based provision of a range of technical services to clients and producers
• The Flex Operator will contribute to the day-to-day activities of the company where required in the office and the field
• Shift work, many evenings and weekends, can vary from each day to the next
• May include travel

Requirements:

• University or College degree in television production or operations
• Committed to a long-term relationship with Dome Productions and expanding existing skill set over time
• Knowledge of television remote productions with experience in live events, especially sports
• Able to troubleshoot and think fast and use inputs, references and other experts to solve problems \'on the fly\'
• Knowledge of television production equipment and software
• Understanding of technical workflows
• Understanding of NDI/NDI Tools workflow and capabilities
• Track record of positive and collaborative interpersonal skills with strong verbal, written communication skills
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
• Takes direction, think critically under pressure, and work professionally as part of a cohesive team within specific time constraints
