Full time, 6-days a week. Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm and Saturday 7am to 11 am. Additional hours may be necessary, depending on workload and priorities.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Adjusting/testing steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drivetrains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions and oil, temperature
Diagnosing malfunctions and performing vehicle repairs
Diagnosing, Testing and Rebuilding engines etc.
Moving machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
Mechanically inclined and experienced with hand and power tools to move equipment/ machinery
General shop duties including but not limited to: cleaning, sweeping, and organizing
Assist other shop members with tasks and projects when needed
Must have good coordination and manual dexterity
Knowledge of some small repairs and replacing parts
Follow all shop safety procedures
Maybe asked to salt and plow parking lots/driveways as needed seasonally
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Highschool diploma, required and post-secondary in a related field is an strong preferred
5 years' experience as a service technician or similar, auto and/or truck and coach required
310T Truck and Coach Training, required
310S Automotive Service Technician License is an asset
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to communicate any hazards, material concerns or maintenance issues to supervisor or manager
Safety first mindset is required
Geninue interest in all things mechanical and curiosity to fix them
Ability to take direction and follow through on daily tasks
Physical Abilities:
Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time
Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs
Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs
Able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time
Able to work in extreme summer heat and winter cold
