About the Opportunity


We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Fleet Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of our fleet and equipment. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing our shop operations, supervising a team, and ensuring all fleet assets are maintained for safety, compliance, and performance.

Key Responsibilities



Fleet & Asset Management



Oversee and maintain the company's fleet of vehicles, trailers, and powered equipment. Schedule and manage preventive maintenance using CMMS platforms (e.g., Fiix). Track and renew MVIs, registrations, and insurance on all fleet assets. Monitor and manage floater vehicles to ensure field readiness. Administer and report GPS data (Geotab) to monitor performance and driver behavior. Review mandatory daily inspection reports from drivers and coordinate follow-ups.

Shop Operations



Supervise a team of 3 shop staff and 1 part-time service advisor. Manage daily scheduling, work orders, repair priorities, and overtime as needed. Enforce protocols for shop safety, cleanliness, and tool inventory. Coordinate third-party repairs and maintain seasonal equipment (e.g., plows, lawn care).

Compliance & Reporting



Ensure compliance with federal/provincial transportation laws and internal safety policies. Maintain vehicle compliance trackers and dashboards for review by leadership. Address and resolve compliance gaps or safety deficiencies proactively.

Facility & Grounds Oversight



Maintain order, safety, and cleanliness in fleet yards, shop facilities, and employee parking areas.

Communication & Coordination



Liaise with project managers and field staff to meet operational needs. Provide timely key reports and updates to leadership and operations teams. Assist with vehicle assignments, driver accountability, and key tracking.

Qualifications



Experience in fleet or equipment management (construction or trades preferred). Strong leadership and team supervision experience. Familiar with vehicle maintenance schedules, compliance requirements, and safety standards. Proficient with Microsoft Excel; experience with Geotab and CMMS software is a strong asset. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Valid Class 5 driver's license (additional classes are an asset). Clean driving record.
