Partnered with Meridia, Birch Hill is in search of a Fleet Manager to join their team in Moncton, New Brunswick.

Role Description

As the Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for running the day-to-day operations of the shop, which will include managing and scheduling a team of 8-10 staff. You will control the shop inventory by ordering the necessary parts and tools, and frequently speaking with vendors to negotiate favourable terms. You will make decisions on repairs, coordinating with the foremen on site to determine the best course of action, and will schedule work appropriately to ensure resources are being utilized in the most efficient manner.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all aspects of maintenance and repair
• Scheduling all maintenance and repairs for mechanic staff and outside resources as required
• Ensuring work-readiness of the fleet
• Opening and closing work orders
• Training, coaching, and mentoring fleet maintenance team
• Maintaining an organized and clean work environment
• Purchasing parts and supplies required for day-to-day fleet maintenance
• Managing shop inventories as required

Your Qualifications

Your background in heavy equipment makes you very knowledgeable on the equipment and processes found in the shop. You have experience with managing teams and have shown an adept ability at scheduling, coordinating, providing leadership, and gaining buy-in from those working with you. Additionally, you have excellent communication and organizational skills, a great ability to prioritize, and a results-driven mindset.

Your qualifications include:

• Licensed Heavy Equipment and/or Truck and Trailer license preferred but not required.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to lead others and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Results-focused and a strong work ethic
• Strong computer skills and the ability to adapt to new software programs
• Experience with Caterpillar and John Deere equipment is considered an asset
• Possess a valid driver\'s license
