Reporting to the Director of Equipment Services, the Fleet Manager is responsible for providing leadership, direction and support to our Mississauga Facility.
This location specializes in servicing and maintaining our internal fleet of dedicated company equipment along with a select group of external fleet equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide overall leadership, motivation, development and direction to shop employees in daily shop activities, including staffing.
Plan and organize daily activities of shop employees to maintain consistent workflow and maintain deadlines
Effectively communicate with internal and external customers and focus on a high level of customer service and satisfaction
Responsible for managing the facility, operating expenses and overhead costs
Communicate with operations to plan and schedule all equipment service requirements.
Review financial results to maintain monthly budget
Schedule work hours to ensure efficient operation meeting customer needs
Monitor and ensure a high level of shop productivity
Optimize staffing levels
Establish and maintain good working relationships with vendors and suppliers
Ensure that all reporting employees adhere to company safety policies and procedures
Manage and maintain the facility and yard while ensuring operational compliance
Process work orders and ensure monthly work order completion, manage inventory levels, oversee parts procurement and invoice processing
Promote and develop a positive culture both internally and externally
Other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent. College or post-secondary education is preferred
Experience in Heavy Truck or related industry experience preferred
Minimum three years of management experience in a similar capacity
Strong interpersonal skills; outgoing, positive thinker and self-motivated
Sound decision making, problem solving and time management skills
Competency in the following areas required; customer service, administrative skills, managing a team, proficiency with software and computers
Valid driver's license and Drivers Abstract
Assets:
Licensed Truck and Coach Technician (310T) - Asset but not required
Management diploma, certification or equivalent
