We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Clothing Donations Fleet Manager to oversee the operation, maintenance, and management of our company's vehicle fleet. The role combines general fleet management responsibilities with the specific needs of a donation-based operation, including:
Overseeing the entire lifecycle of donated items.
Managing logistics, transportation and maintenance of vehicles.
Coordinating clothing donation box servicing, placement, and relocation.
Supervising staff involved in the collection, movement, and distribution of donated clothing.
1. Logistics and Collection Management
Plan and organize the daily operations for donation collections and distribution:
- Manage collection bins (maintenance, replacement, and relocation).
- Plan and monitor daily and weekly fleet schedules and routes to ensure efficient pickup of donations from clothing donation bins, donor homes, or partner organizations.
- Manage day-to-day movement of products collected from clothing donation bins to warehouses, thrift stores, and client destinations.
2. Fleet Management and Compliance
Ensure all vehicles are compliant with Ministry of Transportation standards and company safety policies.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Oversee regular inspections, preventive maintenance schedules, and repair logs for all trucks.
- Maintain up-to-date safety certifications, driver records, and compliance documentation.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, accidents, and emergencies, coordinating recovery and repairs.
- Promote a culture of safety through ongoing driver training and accountability measures.
3. Operational Efficiency & Cost Control
Develop and implement strategies to optimize productivity and reduce operational costs.
- Monitor and manage fleet expenses, including fuel, maintenance, insurance, and repairs, ensuring adherence to budget.
- Utilize Excel and fleet tracking software to monitor clothing donation bins' performance data, routes, fuel consumption, mileage, and vehicle performance.
- Develop and implement route optimization strategies to minimize operational costs and improve service efficiency.
- Maintain accurate daily and weekly performance reports for management review.
- Assist in forecasting and capital planning for fleet expansion or replacements.
4. Product & Route Support
- Assist in the physical movement of products when needed, including loading/unloading or operating vehicles.
- Step in to cover driver routes during emergencies, absences, or high-demand periods.
- Support warehouse and sorting operations when required.
5. Leadership & Communication
- Lead, motivate, train, and support the driver team to maintain high morale and performance.
- Act as a liaison between drivers, operations staff, and management.
- Ensure clear, efficient communication channels during regular operations and emergencies.
- Provide incident and performance reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Key Skills & Requirements
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and operational dynamics.
Technical: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with fleet management/tracking software.
Operational: Strong understanding of logistics, route planning, and vehicle maintenance.
Analytical: Budget management, data reporting, and performance analysis.
Interpersonal: Team leadership, clear communication, and conflict resolution.
Physical: Ability to perform hands-on work, including occasional product handling and truck operation.
Compliance: Valid G-class or higher driver's license with a clean record; at least three years of professional, verifiable experience driving a straight truck; knowledge of Ontario transportation regulations.

Pay: $62,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
