Based at our Edmonton plant location, the Fleet Labourer is responsible for assisting the Redux Program team in providing a high level of quality customer service to used cooking oil and grease trap customers. Key tasks of the role include cleaning equipment such as used cooking oil bins, containers and vehicles, ensuring all Standard Operating Procedures and established company procedures for cleanliness are adhered to. The Fleet Labourer (Redux) may also assist with the delivery and swapping of bins at customer locations among other customer service-focused tasks.
Your own transportation to the workplace is required due to lack of public transportation available. The Edmonton Plant is located just north of Sherwood Park. As a part of West Coast Reduction Ltd.'s hiring process, we request applicants to complete a background check for employment purposes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the cleaning and refurbishing of Redux equipment including cooking oil bins, containers, company vehicles and other equipment as assigned
  • Replace lids and screens for Redux equipment; replace stickers or install decals on containers
  • Pro-actively assess and clean customer sites to the Redux Sales team standard
  • Pick up from retired customers and deliver new Redux containers to customer locations
  • Follow up with customers on placement of Redux bins
  • Assist in the clean-up of spills and leaking bins for Redux customers
  • Refill products for fleet items inside vehicles or at the plant site, as needed
  • Maintain equipment and spill response kits, and follow the cleaning and disinfecting standard operating procedures
  • Support delivery and installation activities with third party vendors for Used Cooking Oil inside storage tanks
  • Assist in all operational activities supporting the Used Cooking Oil Inside storage tank program including but not limited to maintenance SOPs, problem troubleshooting and end user training
  • Maintain clear and organized site yard areas including around wash bay or plant equipment
  • Provide emergency coverage of cooking oil collection, trap grease services or other driving routes as directed by the Fleet Superintendent or Fleet Dispatch Foreman
  • May be asked to safely operate forklifts and other hoisting devices when necessary
  • Perform shift work based on company business needs which evolve and change in response to customer demands
  • Work overtime as instructed to ensure minimal downtime of facilities as per Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all West Coast Reduction Ltd. policies

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Possession of a valid class 5 drivers' license with a clean abstract required
  • Previous experience in a production environment or similar industry an asset
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills and prior experience dealing with customer accounts highly preferred
  • Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
  • Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily
  • Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined space, heights, cold weather, odours, and exposure to animal by-products
