Fixture Fabricator

We are currently seeking a Fixture Fabricator to join our Saskatoon Manufacturing Plant.

Fixture Fabricators are hardworking, positive, and eager team members that work within a team to construct, alter, and repair weld jigs and fixtures as well as work on other various projects while incorporating lean manufacturing principles.

In your roll you will:

- Construct, alter and repair special tools and templates, fixtures and weld jigs.

- Perform machining of parts for more intricate work and other operations for higher grade Fabricators.

- Check tooling made or modified by outside subcontractors to insure it meets quality specifications.

- Perform machine operations requiring a variety of regular and exacting set ups to maintain close tolerances.

The Qualified Candidate will have:

- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.

- Minimum of two years' experience working in manufacturing processes.

- Minimum of three years' experience in welding and/or in the fabrication of parts using machines such as saws, brakes, lathes, and mills.

- Ability to read and understand blueprints, including welding diagrams and symbols.

- Ability to work with minimal supervision.

- Good verbal, and written communication skills.

- Experience in trouble shooting and problem solving.

- Able to perform considerable physical effort consisting of frequently lifting or moving average weight material in difficult work positions. The candidate must be physically able to wear a respirator while some tasks such as light painting.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

- Proficiency in both MIG welding and operation of manual fabrication machines such as saws, brakes, lathes, and mills.

- Journeyperson certification in a related field.

Pay: $33.78-$37.60 per hour
