Job Overview

Welder/Fitter - The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing heavy steel products using various welding techniques and fitting skills. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate a range of tools and equipment. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on precision and safety.

Duties

Perform MIG tacking and welding. Read and interpret technical drawings, and assembly instructions. Operate plasma cutting machines, press brake machines, cranes, forklifts, and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently. Rigging of materials for lifting and assembly using cranes or other rigging equipment. Conduct quality inspections using calipers and other measuring devices to ensure parts meet specifications. Assist with all fabrication, assembly, and installation as required. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and procedures. Collaborate with team members on complex projects involving construction, manufacturing, or assembly tasks.

Experience

Proven experience in welding (SMAW, MIG, FCAW) within a manufacturing or construction environment. Mechanical knowledge of machinery operation including press brakes, plasma cutters, cranes, forklifts. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, calipers, and basic math skills necessary for precise measurements. Prior work involving welding in heavy steel fabrication. Certification in welding or rigging is desirable but not mandatory; relevant experience is essential.

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
