The Fitness Supervisor is responsible for developing and delivering high-quality fitness programs that align with YMCA standards, creating diverse schedules and initiatives to engage members of all fitness levels. This role provides leadership to Personal Trainers and Volunteers through recruitment, training, and coordination of schedules, ensuring smooth operations and strong team communication. Additionally, the Fitness Supervisor upholds safety protocols, fosters positive member relationships, and collaborates with the Member Experience Team to enhance satisfaction and retention.

Major Responsibilities:

Deliver and maintain high-quality fitness programs that meet YMCA standards and support member engagement across all fitness levels. Recruit, train, develop, and recognize group fitness volunteers to ensure a diverse and engaging class schedule. Hire, onboard, and manage Personal Trainers, oversee Personal Training programs, drive Personal Training revenue growth, and complete Personal Trainer's payroll Ensure compliance with YMCA health and safety policies to protect participants, staff, and property. Oversee the fitness floor and equipment, ensuring functionality, reporting issues to Facilities, and recommending improvements or new equipment needs. Collaborate with the Member Experience Team to implement "The Y Way," build strong member relationships, and address concerns to enhance retention. Act as Duty Staff when required, providing leadership, resolving conflicts, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Foster a positive team environment through clear communication, operational oversight, and support for staff and volunteers.

Qualifications-

you bring

:

Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience Minimum 5 years of experience in fitness/health and wellness environments Proven knowledge in the areas of exercise science, nutrition, choreography, and fitness trends Current YMCA Group Fitness Instructor Certification or equivalent YMCA Personal Training Certification or equivalent an asset Experience instructing Group Fitness classes Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate Post-Secondary education or degree in a Physical Education or related field preferred Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
